7 Things You May Not Know About Me

23 March 2009 No Comment

There’s a wave pulsing through the blogs of entrepreneurs called “7 Things You Don’t Know About Me.” My friend, Susan Reid at Discovering Your Inner Samurai, tagged me and six other bloggers to reveal our hidden secrets. In turn, we keep it alive by bringing in the next wave, and you can see how it grows exponentially. Why not, I thought, and came up with a list of obscure things that only a few people know about me. It’s odd, as an artist, to step out into the light this way. But there’s freedom in exposure! Try it…

7 Things You May Not Know About Me

1. I’m a twin.

2. I have two gurus, one is 8 and one is 11. Their wisdom is invaluable.

3. As a kid, I spent my free time in my family’s commercial greenhouses. Roses inspire much of my love for line and shape today.

4. As a teen, I followed my rebellious nature to the tattoo shop and branded myself with a winged-heart, not fully understanding this symbol of freedom for years.

5. In my twenties, I landed a position where I invested over $30 million dollars daily, and discovered the power of money in this culture.

6. In my thirties, I learned how to love myself.

7. Today, I’m free of the social and cultural limits that shaped my youth.
