Lots of people have asked me how I came up with the name Nine Tomatoes. It was really rather ordinary to me, but only because I always listen to my intuition. Sometimes it just takes me a while to tune in to what I'm getting. I was working with a coach, Susan Reid, when I unleashed my inner artist. She had a lot to do with that, actually. If you're trying to figure out what to do with all your seemingly unrelated talents, get in touch with her. Anyway, she gave me the task of naming my new business. I wasn't even up to speed with the idea of having a new business, much less naming it. But she encouraged me to think about it and listen to my intuition. Taking this very seriously, I sat outside and meditated, waiting for the bolt of lightening to hit me. It didn't come. I got restless and started pacing around in circles, engaging my mind. Lots of ideas, but nothing I liked. On each pass by my potted tomato plant, I stopped to count, then continued on my walk mindlessly chanting Nine Tomatoes. A few more passes and it hit me! It was instantly clear to me that Nine Tomatoes was the name I'd been feverishly searching for. And there it was, all along, just waiting to be noticed.
Sometimes called "channeled art" or "intuitive drawing," the energy that comes through in these drawings is expansive and healing. The best way to share this energy with people is to offer a variety of ways to interact with it. I like to call it Functional Art.
